JFilm: The Pittsburgh Jewish Film Forum and Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts announced today that they are partnering to produce the Three Rivers Film Festival presented by Dollar Bank. The annual festival, in its 35th year and held each fall, is the oldest and largest in the region and had previously been produced by Pittsburgh Filmmakers.
The partnership aims to raise the level of independent film in Pittsburgh, developing the Three Rivers Film Festival into a leading international event, said Kathryn Spitz Cohan, executive director of JFilm.
Films will continue to be screened at the three Pittsburgh Filmmakers theaters — Harris Theater, Regent Square Theater and Melwood Screening Room — and Waterworks Cinemas near Aspinwall. New venues also will be added, such as the August Wilson Center, Downtown.
